This project is designed to fit into a History course for students from 6th — 10th grades. Timeline The object of the activity below is to have students attempt to recreate the steps that an ancient civilization would take to survive in its infancy.
This activity will require students to follow a series of steps in a constrained period of time. Ideally, students should work on these steps in the History classroom under the supervision of the teacher.
This would require all students to have a personal computer with Minecraft downloaded on each device. Typically, Minecraft. Requiring students to work under time constraints, and to complete work in the classroom ensures that students are not spending copious amounts of time crafting at home, and also that students follow the steps. Since Big Ben is one of the many World Wonders featured in Civilization VI a list that grew recently with last year's New Frontier Pass DLC , LookosZero opted to present the creation with a time-lapse video complete with voiceover narration themed after the best-selling strategy title.
It would appear that LookosZero was able to pull the iconic narration voice line directly from Civilization VI for this short clip. Since Civilization VI shows dramatic time-lapse videos of World Wonders being built brick-by-brick once they're finished, Minecraft is a surprisingly good fit for some Civilization fan service.
Fans of the popular society simulation game can attest to how satisfying it is to finally have a Wonder completed, and this clip successfully translates that triumphant feeling. The only thing missing is the orbiting camera covering the time-lapse. Minecraft is a game that is constantly expanding, with frogs and mangrove trees set to be added with next year's The Wild Update. Considering how much new content is added regularly, it will be interesting to watch how other creators can compose unique and true-to-life landscapes, buildings, and cities moving forward.
